Over two decades ago... I wrote and directed two features and two shorts that were all funded from a few bucks in my back pocket. I took a 20-year hiatus to concentrate on acting, but am now thrilled to be putting the writer/director/editor hat back on and am eternally thankful to FINALLY be able to hire Cast & Crew for these stories I'm telling. I'm also proudly on the autism spectrum which is something I didn't know about myself 20 years ago.

Director Statement
Wilf is a short film based on the novel 'Wilf' by Heidi McLeod. The book is actually based on the true story of her grandfather's life as a Lutheran Pastor. Many foreign students and workers met the same fate during the onset of WW1, they were sent to prison camps, or work camps, due to being labelled 'enemy aliens' by the German Government.
This short film focuses on this group of theology students and their handling of the news. Australian born student Wilf, our hero, a born leader, attempts to calm the group with his bravery and spirit. He and his mates stay up all night with a conscripted student who's terrified to go to war.
The film is an ode to the spirit, faith and resilience of the young men who met this fate and all those who've had to endure the horrors of war.
